High School Musical fans unite. There is a new movie coming out this fall in the theaters. Get ready for the best singing and dancing ever, all on the big screen.

High School Musical 3 (HSM 3) brings all the drama and action of the East High School Wildcats to theaters on October 24, 2008. It is directed by Kenny Ortega, who has directed all of the High School Musical movies. This is the first time a High School Musical movie will debut in theaters and not on the Disney Channel. This is an exciting change for some of the cast who have not yet starred on screen.

The Plot of HSM 3: Senior Year

One of the main story lines includes the fact that Troy and Gabriella have to figure out what they are going to do, because they are going to be going to separate colleges. How will they stay together? They have been a favorite couple in all of the movies, so don't miss finding out what their senior year will bring.

The Wildcats put on a spectacular spring musical showing how they feel about their future and their hopes and dreams. It will have brand new music and exciting new dances. And then, of course there is the Senior Prom, which is really a sight to see. Follow the seniors as they try on dresses and tuxedos, and follow them on a night they will always remember.

Highlights of Original Casting and Newcomers

The movie has all the original cast members:

  • Troy Bolton played by Zac Efron
  • Gabriella Montez played by Vanessa Hudgens
  • Sharpay Evans played by Ashley Tisdale
  • Ryan Evans played by Lucas Grabeel
  • Chad Danforth played by Corbin Bleu
  • Taylor McKessie played by Monique Coleman

Plus a few new additions:

  • Jimmy "The Rock" Zara played by Matt Prokop
  • Tiara played by Jemma McKenzie-Brown
  • Donny played by Justin Martin

New Music and Dance Numbers

The movie features all new songs, including different styles of music than seen in the previous movies. As the actors have become more comfortable working together, and grown in their talents, it is obvious that HSM 3 is a bit more "grown up," especially seen in dancing styles.

The official HSM 3 website on Disney Channel states that the music and dance numbers presented are great because they take advantage of the opportunity to perform for the big screen, allowing cast members to deliver exciting performances. A few new music titles include:

  • Dance In The Rhythm If U Wannabe
  • Our Prom Time
  • Hollywood In School
  • Let’s See It

Some of the music has already made its way to the top of the Disney Radio charts. You can hear them daily.

As you can see, it looks like High School Musical has topped itself with this one, and just when you thought it couldn't get any better. If you have already seen High School Musical 1 and 2, you are in for some neat surprises as this last sequel comes to theaters.
